before the beginning of this summer, we (justine and melissa) were very much preoccupied (read: on the verge of being obsessed) with the idea of actually getting into shape. and i mean preoccupied, with the topic cropping up in about every other conversation or so. and so we began to look for ways to really put this plan into action. but this is where it gets difficult, mostly because we don't like to exercise. if there was a way to have our bodies magically morph into lithe, toned bodies, we most definitely would opt for that.

i think the problem here was really the capacity to actually do something physical like exercise or play a sport or what. i don't think we were always this lazy (or so i'd like to think), with justine's history of football, taekwondo and softball and my brief stints of ballet and yoga.

and after much deliberation over what we were going to do this summer, we finally decided on this:

to quickly explain what barre3 is like -- it's kind of like a mix of yoga, pilates and ballet rolled into an hour-long session. at the beginning you think it's really easy and harmless but at some point you might realize how much your body is laboring and you're swearing under your breath. not exaggerating here. here's the website for more details: http://www.barre3.com.ph/

we've been to two classes together so far and we think it's going to be really effective. (madonna does it and you don't see her sporting a tummy like ours!) keeping our fingers crossed for that! we're attending another class tomorrow at rockwell with our friends la and franco at 1pm. :-)

we'll be posting more pictures of our day as well so be sure to check again tomorrow! :-)
